Abstract

:                The research attempted to cover the critical trends in delimiting the status of the Indian woman , to examine the reasons behind a number of these trends and their effect upon the woman's life in India , and to know the society's stance and that of the official ruling authorities towards a number of systems ,customs and traditions that delimited the status of the Indian woman . the research also gave an account of the public life of the Indian wife and the emergent criticism regarding this issue , discussing the phenomenon 0f prostitution (profane and sacred) according to Indian beliefs and concepts and the opinions of priests , rulers , and others . the paper aimed at exploring the most important features of  woman's clothes and the works assigned to her and her lost rights in many respects like the state of disinheriting her .
